when a woman knows her worth there is nothing that can stop her from achieving. She knows success is already hers. She knows that God fashioned her in the best of forms. She is persistent and devoted to being the best she can be in this short-term life. She knows the hereafter is her eternal abode and she wants nothing but the approval of her lord and a place in paradise.
Three years ago, I self-published “she knows her worth” as a gift of positivity to women of all nations, races and religions. As an African American Muslim woman, I Know greatly what is feels like to be left out of the “cool crowd” or what society deems as cool. I know what it’s like to be treated like an outcast. Life has thrown many curveballs, I have been blessed to duck and dive and make my way out with the power of prayer and mercy of the lord. Trust In God is the ultimate key to it all. I will never loose trust in God for he has seen me through the darkest of days. The best way of adjusting to life as I know now, is living in the moment. This very moment is the truth, what is presented before me should be the only focus. yes it is great to plan for the future, but to ponder , worry and stress about what is to come is a great way to meet with anxiety and depression. We have no control over the future, there fore we must plan , hope for the best and leave the rest for the almighty to carry out.
Living in the moment and focusing on the now leads to peace and clarity of thought. What was can not be changed or brought back. No sense of holding onto things that cannot be undone. Let it all go and let God take care of it all. One of the biggest challenges I have had for an extremely long time is letting go of the past. Anytime I would sincerely do my best to be on top and move to new heights in life, a cloud from my past would float to the top of my being and Rain on me showers of doubt, hate , regret, animosity and revenge. Holding on to the past has crippled me in many ways ; since letting go and moving forward with trust in the almighty, I have regained a better insight. The past has mad me feel bitter and ugly. But my overpowering faith continues to break me out of that nasty bitter place.
One of the reasons I love art , being an artist and creating is because of the great space it puts me in. Everything is present, every stroke of the brush , color of paint , hand movement etc gives me an airy feeling of just being. I thank you all so much for following and supporting me on my journey.

There are so many tragedies going on in the world at this time. One of the most things to have at this time is Gratitude ,as well patience and faith. gratitude is so important, you have to be thankful for what you have, be thankful that you are alive. Everyday there are reports of people dying, loosing their homes, being oppressed at war etc. needless to say, if you are breathing, have a roof over your head and food to put in your mouth their is no reason to complain. When i see homeless people smile and have positive to say, when they have absolutely nothing, i know i have a long way to go as far as gratitude.
Patience is necessary to get through in this life. God is ultimately in control, you have to put that faith and trust in him and know that he knows what he is doing. without patience you become depressed, stressed and full of anxiety. patience is a true sign of strength and a person who has undoubted faith in God. The year of 2020 has taught me nothing but patience and reliance upon the most high. I am content that whatever is meant to be will eventually be.This year has brought about test that affect everyone and it should make us all stronger, wiser and closer to God. I am Thankful for the trials for in them are true blessings.
Ultimately, we must live with love, gratitude and patience. Life is about perseverance and faith. We have no control over anything. We don’t know when our last breathe will be, so there is no point in stressing on unknown things.Learn to love yourself and be kind to others. This year is a lesson that we will all remember, a blessing and a trial. Forgive and let go of the anger. Once you give it all to God you will feel renewed and at peace.
There is nothing more special to me than Eid. To fast and seek forgiveness, make dua and than to follow by an incredible day spent with family and friends. Nothing could possibly be better. This is the second eid this year. The first Eid was after the 30 days of Ramadan and this eid is after the 10 powerful days of Dhul- Hijr when pilgrims make hajj in Makka. One of the others things i love about eid is being a henna artist and doing henna for customers. Henna is like an Eid necessity. Beautify your body with designs is such an amazing thing to do for the Eid celebration. Despite all the craziness going on in the world of 2020 I thank Allah i got the chance to see a blessed eid.
This is a pic of me in which i did my own henna(on both hand). I guess i’m pretty ambidextrous when it comes to doing henna.
Henna is something i love and enjoy, I have been this art for over 10 years and thank God for blessing me to be an amazing artist.
