This past week has been a blast may 21-22 was an amazing experience for The Gifted Empire LLC, at the 31st annual Malcom x festival. So much beauty and melanin in the atmosphere celebrating the life and legacy of a hero, legend for our people Malcom X, also known as El Hajj malik Al-Shabazz.

I had the honor of doing several henna tattoos (below are a few pictures from the hundreds of people I have done. lovely crowd thousands of people celebrating our heritage, life and history.

Time is slipping

Ramadan day 15. It felt like it just came yesterday. I am so not ready for it to be over. I love the fast, the ambition, focus and dedication it has given me to myself, my lord and Religion. 15 days ago I was not in the mental state I am in now, I feel so at peace and clear of all negative energy. I am eager for the next 15 days and want to indulge in every second and minute of it without any distractions. The mercy of this month is so beautiful, I can physically feel it in every aspect. Ramadan always comes at the right time. I am truly thankful to be experiencing this Ramadan of 2022. God is truly great and merciful.

First Friday in Ramadan

It is one of the best days of the week. Not to mention in the beautiful and sacred month of Ramadan. Talk about triple blessings!. SO thankful to the almighty for allowing me to see this beautiful month. I enjoyed the company of the believers while we fast and listened to the beautiful khutbah (Lecture). So much many wonderful things were discussed during the lecture. One being the importance of the Quran, abstaining from worldly affairs, music, bad speech even after a day of fasting. This month is the 9month in the Islamic calendar, and can be compared to rebirth of self.

Ramadan always come at the right time. Just when God knows the soul needs it. I thank the almighty for allowing me the honor to see the first Friday in the blessed month of Ramadan. Stay loved and focused God willing 25 more days to Go, and I am ready for every second of it!

this message is very important for everyone out there going through it. Besides all the chaos going on in the world that we are currently facing, I have an important message for the heart, mind and soul. This is also a message for myself, as I like to remind myself before reminding/helping others. The message that I want to relate is to never stop working. Never stop. whatever it is you are working on, building and have been doing so for days, weeks , months and even years. Continue to do so no matter how long it takes. Nothing in this life comes easy, no one becomes rich over night. There will undoubtedly be trial and error.

I had to come to a realization, that after many fails, attempts and setbacks that I must continue and move forward. My business is a bit rocky at the moment. But I refuse to give up on it and myself. The support and exposure I thought I would receive in the beginning are not what I expected. It has humbled me and made me understand the importance of strive. With continuance and perseverance you will see what you have earnestly worked for. so to anyone right now who is stagnant in there business or don’t seem to be making the progress you wanted. Be mindful that you are a work in progress. Good things take time. Sometimes a very long time.

If you want it go after it! If something is heavy on your heart and mind do not leave it to sit there. Than it becomes burden on you. Do not let anyone deter you from your dreams and goals. It might seem impossible in the eyes of other people, or it just may be that there is jealousy that they could not even come to think of a master plan such as yours. It’s best not to tell anyone your goals and dreams anyways. Keep it between you and God and those you know you can trust unconditionally. Working is something that must continuously happen , evolution must happen you are a work in progress. Do not ever give up.

Living in the moment

Life has thrown many curveballs, I have been blessed to duck and dive and make my way out with the power of prayer and mercy of the lord. Trust In God is the ultimate key to it all. I will never loose trust in God for he has seen me through the darkest of days. The best way of adjusting to life as I know now, is living in the moment. This very moment is the truth, what is presented before me should be the only focus. yes it is great to plan for the future, but to ponder , worry and stress about what is to come is a great way to meet with anxiety and depression. We have no control over the future, there fore we must plan , hope for the best and leave the rest for the almighty to carry out.

Let go and let God

Living in the moment and focusing on the now leads to peace and clarity of thought. What was can not be changed or brought back. No sense of holding onto things that cannot be undone. Let it all go and let God take care of it all. One of the biggest challenges I have had for an extremely long time is letting go of the past. Anytime I would sincerely do my best to be on top and move to new heights in life, a cloud from my past would float to the top of my being and Rain on me showers of doubt, hate , regret, animosity and revenge. Holding on to the past has crippled me in many ways ; since letting go and moving forward with trust in the almighty, I have regained a better insight. The past has mad me feel bitter and ugly. But my overpowering faith continues to break me out of that nasty bitter place.

Art and the present moment

One of the reasons I love art , being an artist and creating is because of the great space it puts me in. Everything is present, every stroke of the brush , color of paint , hand movement etc gives me an airy feeling of just being. I thank you all so much for following and supporting me on my journey.

It is so important to be kind to others. you never know a battle someone is facing. Pretending is such a common practice most adhere to. Pretending to be happy, pretending everything is ok etc. So just because someone smiles and says they are ok , most of the time they are not. Just because someone has riches and success does not mean they are happy with themselves or their life. Life is Very hard. It is meant to be a challenge and test. So many deaths of suicide are all too common. I mean frequent, back to back; you here of not just only regular everyday people but A list celebrities. That should tell you something. No Amount of money or success in this world can bring you peace or happiness. Focus on God, focus on loving yourself. and most importantly be kind to others and especially to yourself.
